2. Services Offered
Charles & Kiyo Travel and Tours provides local and international travel and tours planning services, specializing in:
- Hotel Bookings: Reserving hotel accommodation on behalf of clients.
- Transport Arrangements: Coordinating air travel, ground transport, car hires, and airport transfers.
- Custom Packages: Curating tailor-made local (Kenyan) safari and international holiday itineraries.
3. Bookings & Enquiries
Any booking request or travel enquiry submitted through the website is subject to availability and does not constitute a binding booking contract until confirmed directly by us.
We will communicate with you directly via email, phone, or WhatsApp to verify details, secure availability with partners, and issue official confirmations.
4. Pricing
All package rates or services quotes are communicated directly to you based on your custom requirements. We prioritize transparent pricing with no hidden costs.
Quotes are subject to changes based on seasonal fluctuations, third-party provider adjustments, and availability at the time of final booking.
5. Trips, Deposits and Refunds
This section applies to our scheduled group trips, such as the Lake Ellis day hike on Mount Kenya, that you reserve on a trip page of this website or with us on WhatsApp.
- Prices: trips are priced per person by category (Kenyan, Non-Kenyan resident, Non-Kenyan), as shown on the trip page. What each price includes is listed on the trip page.
- Reservations: an online reservation holds your seats for 6 hours so you can pay the deposit. If the deposit is not received in that time, the reservation may lapse and the seats may be released to other travellers. A booking is confirmed once we have verified your deposit and confirmed it to you on WhatsApp.
- Deposit: a deposit of Ksh 1,000 per person, for every category, secures your slot. It is paid by M-PESA (Lipa na M-PESA, Buy Goods) to Till Number 5936766, registered as CK TRAVEL & TOURS. Please keep your M-PESA confirmation message until we confirm your booking. If you cannot pay by M-PESA, contact us on WhatsApp to arrange the deposit.
- Balance: the rest of the trip price is paid on the day of the trip. Non-Kenyan travellers pay the Ksh 1,000 M-PESA deposit when booking and settle the balance on the day in cash (USD or KES).
- Cancellations by you: if you cancel at least 7 days before the trip date (for the Lake Ellis hike on Saturday 17 October 2026, by Saturday 10 October 2026), your deposit is refunded in full. After that, the deposit is non-refundable.
- Cancellations by us: if we cancel a trip, for example because of unsafe weather, you receive a full refund of the amounts you have paid us for that trip.
- Transfers: you may transfer your slot to another person by telling us on WhatsApp before the trip, with the new traveller's name and category.
- Identification: park entry fees depend on citizenship and residency. Each traveller must carry a valid Kenyan ID, resident permit or passport that matches the category they booked.
- Safety: hiking at altitude is physically demanding. Please tell us about any relevant medical conditions when booking, and follow the guide's safety instructions on the day.
6. Cancellations
For hotel bookings, transport arrangements and custom packages, cancellation policies vary depending on the specific hotels, airlines, and third-party transport operators involved in your package. Scheduled trips follow Section 5.
All cancellation requests are handled case-by-case. Please contact us directly as soon as possible if you need to modify or cancel your booking. Any refund or credit is subject to the policies of our underlying service providers.
7. User Accounts
If you create a member account on our site, you are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your credentials and account security. You agree to notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account or other security breaches.
8. Limitation of Liability
Charles & Kiyo Travel and Tours acts strictly as an agent for airlines, hotels, transport operators, and other independent travel suppliers.
We are not liable for any injury, damage, loss, accident, delay, or irregularity which may be caused by any company or person engaged in conveying passengers or carrying out travel arrangements, nor are we liable for third-party provider issues such as cancellations, overbookings, strikes, or acts of God.
9. Governing Law
These Terms of Service are governed by and construed in accordance with the Laws of the Republic of Kenya. Any disputes arising out of these terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Kenyan courts.
